I wonder how fast Steve Lehto would tell us to run away from this one?

I’m assuming the “original owner” bought the car and the bank has the title. This dude “bought” the car and once he realized he cannot get the title because it has a lien on it, he’s ready to pass the hot potato.

Any time you can buy a car where the guy has to say specifically in the ad that it isn't stolen, you have to buy that car.

Won't get title because selling without one is easier. Just selling for parts. Means you can't get it registered either because it's stolen or it belongs to the bank still.

This seems like one of those “Revenge Sellings”. An angry Ex is selling someone’s car they somehow got ahold of.

I saw this once when I was in the Army. One of our guys pulled up in a brand new 911 one day. We don’t make a whole lot, so...er...what? Apparently, a girl waited till her soon to be ex-husband left for the day and posted an Ad for a 911 Porsche listed as, “This was his baby, but so was I. So he can’t have both. $100.”

He had the title in hand and a bill of sale to show us it was legit. We also recommended not to drive the car in town...anytime soon.

I always hear of these urban legends. I once heard of one with a Lotus. So you actually have seen this in person?

Yup, black 911 (Dunno what year, this was late 2000) with tan interior. A SGT (E-5) had it. I ended up overseas for a bit, when I returned he had departed. Dunno if anything else happened with it.
